As I said Buck decided to go on the youth waterfowl hunt here in TN and was actually quite excited about it. I was very happy to see her go and happier still to see her excited. A friend of mine who has a flooded field close to home called Thurs to say the birds had finally arrived at his place and gave an invite where we could hunt out of a blind and not get up so early. That made things even better. Along with my neighbor Pat and his son Austin we finalized plans for Saturday morning on the Middle Fork.

The kids had a blast. We had steady if not spectacular shooting oppurtunities and both kids ended up with two birds. We rode 4 wheelers to the blind, cooked breakfast, and just had a dang good day. Thanks to a good friend, it couldn't have been much better with Buck saying she had a great time.

Here are a few pics.

At the end , I have to say a pretty good season after all.

Good eye for the situation Hawk. Yes the pintail is going on the wall. It was such a good greenhead I also froze it just in case.

Glad y'all had a great hunt HD. And congratulate your daughter on a beautiful pintail. I got my very first one this year after hunting ducks for 20 years.
